Zone IV Boxing Championships, Maputo, Mozambique.

Zweli Dlamini Unfortunate
What appeared to be an easy win for our Commonwealth Games bound boxer turned out to be the opposite as the judges decided otherwise. The boxer gave it his all and deserved to progress to the next stage. Nevertheless the match was given to his Mozambican counterpart who couldn’t believe his luck after having taken a thorough beating in all three rounds. We are overly proud of our boxer.

Andiswa Unlucky
Andiswa Sibandze gave it his all against his Lesotho opponent only to loose it at the last hurdle by knockout. Unfortunately it is the end of the road for our local boxer who is participating in his first maiden senior international championship.

Thabiso Dlamini Through
Our 2010 African Union Sports Council Region 5 U20 Youth Games gold medallist gave an excelling performance to progress through to the next stage of the tournament. It was an easy win for the local pugilist against the Lesotho opponent. Thabiso went all out to win convincingly having witnessed his club mate Zweli Dlamini being robbed in his bout. Thabiso is also Commonwealth Games bound.

Lwando Shongwe Narrowly Loses
In what was the fight of the night our boxer narrowly missed out on progressing to the next stage of the tournament. It was always going to be difficult for him as he was fighting against his opposition and home crowd. Nevertheless, the young local pugilist gave a superb performance receiving huge accolades from the crowd.
